About the Video

The video is about the failing of markets all over the world. Even though Greece has not actually closed it is one of the world's economies that has come very close.

The video begins with two quotes that I consider important.  The first is by Cicero and is from his famous speeches "The Phillippics". If you get a chance you should read the story of Cicero's life and his speeches contain a great many truths.  (Wiki actually has a very good group of articles here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cicero

The second quote is from Andrew Jackson. The truth of it speaks for itself.

The video begins with several jokes about the bailouts given to banks, insurance companies, and the big automakers.  Humor not only makes us laugh..it can cause us to think.

The main body of the video gives a brief look at the Major Economic Depressions the U.S. has undergone.  It is intended to spur discussion in Governments role in causing these depressions, and how our own worse enemy is the Government messing with the free markets.

About the Song

The song "Money" is the right choice for this video.  Mostly in 7/7 time signature it comes off as cold, which is the way most of us view those who control our money.  The lyrics are about the evils of money. Although I don't see money as evil on its own, it certainly brings out the bad sides of people.
